Other than writing, um... I've been watching a few new shows lately. Which is weird for me, since I don't really watch shows. But not on the television; rather, they are on the internet. Hulu.com. I'm pretty sure it's legal because they have commercials and the Wikipedia article says it was a joint project between a couple TV stations. And, well, it's working if they're reaching audiences like me who use the computer a ton but never watch TV.
Anyway, the shows I really like right now are The Office (of course), Legend of the Seeker (although right now they're doing re-runs... eww), Lie to Me, and Chuck. Lie to Me is really interesting, and I'm sure you've all heard about it. I'm just worried that if I watch too much of it, I'll start analyzing everybody's every single move to see if they're lying to me. Haha.
And Chuck is lots of fun. It's a cute show. It's got secret agent stuff but it's not really serious James Bond type. It's more like... Get Smart type. It's fun little capers and things. Not to mention I love the character of Chuck. He's hilarious, he's a super-nerd, and he gets to be involved in all sorts of CIA stuff that goes way over his head. There was one episode where Chuck saved the world by beating an old-school video game. I mean, come on. That's my kind of show.
My birthday was fun. I got an external hard drive from my mom. 500 GB, which should last me for some time. I've already moved all my music over there, and I'm going to keep lots of other stuff on it too. It'll pretty much be a backup disk/storage space so that my computer runs faster. That's the goal, anyway. I also got a The Office calendar from my sister and a gift card to Smith's, so I don't starve. That was nice of them.
I called Marcia from the library back a couple of days ago. She says there's still not much work right now, but three shelvers have quit so far, so she thinks that once March rolls around (it's a busier month than January and February) there might be some positions open, and I should be at the top of the pile (she said so herself). So it's looking good.
And, that is the Life of Jaron in a nutshell right now. Well, the stuff I can say online, anyway ;D

Is anyone else weirded out by these weight loss ads?

Hey Jaron-
First of all, thanks for the comment on my post. It's been a while since anyone has said anything to me here, and I was beginning to think I was talking to myself. It's good to know that someone's listening.
And I completely understand what you mean by feeling alone. Well, sort of, from what I gleaned from the one phrase you mentioned it with. Work has been completely consuming me, and my friends have ended up doing a lot without me, along with never hearing from Dennis, and people at school starting to get into the "Prom Season" mood. If I'm left alone with my thoughts too long, it starts to eat at me a little.
I'm super glad that things are going well with your writing. It was devastating for me to hear about how discouraged you got a while back, because you've got so much talent and I love reading what you've got to write. It's good that the words are flowing again. I myself have been intending to start writing again, I want to revamp an old novel I wrote about two years ago. And I've been making tiny steps toward it, but nothing significant. It mostly takes time, and time I ain't got. :/
Weird as it is, I'm glad you're getting into television. I've gotten more and more into it the past few years, and I've found some of the things I've watched to be huge inspirations for my writing. Battlestar Galactica, for example, though it has a very far out storyline and setting, has some of the most incredible characters I've ever seen, on the screen or on paper. It inspires me to try to recreate something that deep.
Anywho, just figured I'd give you a shout back, since you were nice enough to drop me a comment. :)
Also, do you happen to have Facebook? If yes, look me up. I'm quite a bit more active there than I am here, or even on DA as of late.
